Inspectorates

The services of the National Compliance and Regulatory Authority can be divided into three (3) inspectorates:

  • Import and Domestic Commodities Inspectorate conduct work at all the major ports of entry in Kingston and Montego Bay and throughout retail outlets within the domestic space in Jamaica.

  • Legal Metrology and Petroleum Inspectorate goes to the heart of consumer demand for fairness in trade. In achieving a fair deal for all concerned, our inspectors are focused on achieving compliance by protecting the buyer’s interest whilst safeguarding the integrity of the seller.

  • Food Safety Inspectorate engages in verification of labels, product sampling and the approval of conforming products.
